A Sweet and Sour Read :)

Greetings Sweeties!

How are you all? So! I am very excited to post my first book review of the month....well actually the first review since September when I read the sucker, "The Red Queen". I think that book somewhat scarred me a bit and it really took me a little while to get back into actually picking a book to read. For me, I have to say, the worst part about being a bookworm is picking out a book. It's like have an itch and when you try to scratch it, you suddenly realize that it's not in that spot and it gets under your skin and become impossible to scratch! Have you ever felt that? No? Well, if you have then high five and I'm glad you get my reference! If you answered no...then I never wish that feeling upon you ;) Ever.

Anyways, let's set aside my very random and very awkward opening, and get to something you all care more about. The review! So this month I picked a series of books that I've had on my TBR list for a really long time, but I just never got to. These I promise you were ones that I researched fully, so that I wouldn't have last month's problem, happen again.  If you guys are new and don't know what happened last month, here's the short version. I messed up. It's that simple. I picked a bunch of random books on my TBR list that I wasn't excited about and I hated them. Trust me putting the review up would've had one common title on each of those picks. It would be "SUCKER". I don't know.... maybe it was just me, but I just couldn't get into them. Some were just one big grammar error. Grrr. I just made the short story very long again! Sorry!

Okay so that's what went down last month! This month was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE! I have been reading some fantaaaastic books this month! Some of the best this year in fact! Trust me I will be posting those soon. Believe me, they are just that good.

So this week I will be posting a review on Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G

25056528This Book is About...?

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
No, really. She’s just my best friend...

Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we “hated” each other. We’ve been there for one another through first kisses, first “times,” and we’ve been each other’s constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other…)

Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we’ve never crossed the line.

Never thought about it.
Never wanted to.

Until one night changed everything.
At least, it should’ve ...

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
I’m only saying this until I figure out if she’s still “just” my best friend…

What I Thought slash Rating:

I want to say before I continue that this book was really reallly reeeeeally good. The only thing that made me hit that four star for this book was the content. *blows out a breath* This is gonna sound really dumb, but please bear  with me. I really like books with substance. I say this because I don't really like books that keep bringing up the "s" word. Now I'm not gonna spell it out because I like to keep this blog "kid friendly" but for those of you who guessed it, great! Now, I don't really mind books that bring up dialogue with that word in it or bad words or stuff like that I mean duh. most contemporary romances are like that, but I just don't enjoy the book as much when it's mentioned like every five minutes. Don't get me wrong, this is a "it's me not you" kind of thing so if you would like to Please just ignore that entire top part.

One other thing that got to me was that I didn't love Arizona. There were some parts where I felt like she could've been "better" and same with Carter. Then there were parts where I wished were moved around, but then at the same time I liked the structure...so *sighs* I don't really have a fair argument there either. But I guess it was just preference to the writing style?

There was A LOT of good though! Or I wouldn't have given it such a high rating! I loved the characters chemistry! I loved their hangouts and that they knew everything about each other! I absolutely ADORED how Carter would drop what he was doing for Ari and vice versa. It was sweet and endearing. I did also like how the author wrote about these characters. She really built them up and gave us the bigger picture.

Who Should Read It?

Overall this was a very good and smooth and "sweet" story with humor and that is a lot of 'ands'. Basically it was just a great book.

This would be great for readers who like contemporary romances with A LOT of angst. Man especially at that ending! I loved it! It's great for readers who love the dual POVs and flashbacks. Yup there are like four different chapters with those in them, which weren't bad, but I may have skipped one or two.

You have to read it! I was skeptical at first, but I am truly glad that I gave it a go and you should too! If you guys do read it or have read it. Comment below. Tell me what YOU thought about it. Do you agree? Disagree? I wanna hear your opinions so don't be shy :) Even if you just want to say hi, it's cool ;)

Alright by guys!

Sincerely

P.
