French Toast w/ Extra Wipped Cream

YES! I am so excited because Finals are FINAL-LY over. Yup, all of my classes for this semester are officially, O-V-E-R...over! Which means that I can start focusing on my reading skills, which to me are very important. I would say second on my "Important things that I love that would be life threatening to live without". I know long title. Anyways...the top is college. Which is now on break for winter!! EEEP! I know can you sense my excitement or do I need to squeal more?

So first off, I would like to announce that I am probably, most likely, not going to finish reading the Premonition series by Amy A. Bartol. As much as I loved her books at one point in my very short magnificent life, it turns out that love has dulled. *Looks up at the ceiling* I don't know why, but suddenly everything about this book bothered me. (I really cannot believe I am writing this!)  Okay so what didn't I like? I mean it wasn't that long ago, right? Well, it kind of was and I think that was part of the problem. I bet if the author had written that last book a year after the release of the fourth book, I would be a happy camper and she would've gotten five stars. Unfortunately, she didn't and like everything else in the world, I changed. I don't like ketchup (nor did I ever technically), I'm not really following Paranormal romance (mostly because everything is either werewolves or were-something), and I don't like the premonition series anymore.

Okay, one thing that bugged me now that the old me didn't really care about, was the writing style. New me likes something that sounds effortless and realistic (yeah I am big on realism lately). This was neither. The accents were a bit distracting and I didn't really like the way the author put in "fancy" wording in random places. I have nothing against learning new words or having them in books, it is called a book for a reason. She put them in the most uncomfortable places and it just felt weird to me. I know! It felt like the way an adult would speak not a young adult who just graduated high school. Some of these words weren't spoken, but they were "thought" so to speak.

Either way, I couldn't go through with it. I went to the second chapter and jumped ship. A lot of the scenes I once thought made sense seemed a lot more imaginary. I guess, that's because I'm in college now. Before I just hade the idea of what college was.

What I haven't figured out yet is whether or not I will be going through with my plan to not finish this book. I'm thinking yes, but I am curious on what is in that last book. Again, if she had just written it years ago, I would have been a very happy girl.

So what am I planning to read now? Here's my reading schedule for the next week or so:

1. The Wait for You series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is a series that I also started a while ago (just not years ago). I think the last time I read it was about a year ago. I really liked it and this author is without a doubt my FAVORITE author. She will always be my favorite no matter how much time passes (I hope). I stopped after the first book because when I first started reading NA I had a bit of an aversion to reading sequels because they had new characters and blah blah blah. I have gotten better after time and I think I am ready to finish this series.

2. Some Sort of Happy by Melanie Shaw

I basically got this one because I heard it was funny and the setting was college.

3. Dirty English by Isla Madden-Mills

This one seems good, but I'm not sure if I want to jump on it or not. I've heard great things about it and it has good reviews so I think it'll be good :)

Anyways! That is my list so far and it is subject to change at any time!!!! Just like all the other times. I tend to change my mind A LOT!

Have a great Holiday Sweeties and I'll be writing soon!

Corrupt little gumdrops!

21981841WTF...did I just read??? Uh. Okay so I think that this book was just not my cup of tea. Yeah...I don't know *scratches head* I really wanted to like it and some of the scenes were superbly written, but it was ah...corrupt (in just so many ways). The title fit this book like SO well. Wow. I am like freaked out and a little in shock by this book...

Okay so I guess I should explain myself a little bit more. *Takes a deep breath* I feel like it was a very INTERESTING read. I was sucked into a world that is full of pure chaos, craziness, and corruptness. The book was very good in the sense that I was intrigued. I was pulled in by my hair and the entire time I couldn't decide whether I wanted to keep going or pull myself away. It took a lot of persuading on my part to keep going *wince* but I did. I wanted to see where the author was going with some of those surprises. What the reaction of some of those twists were going to end up like. Unfortunately curiosity kills the cat. Me, being the metaphorical cat who ends up with 8 live instead of 9. I felt like Alice falling through a darker rabbit hole and not being able to see the opening. (Please excuse my overuse of metaphors)
Basically, it was just very hard to resist going forward and with each turn of he page my interest started to rise through the freaking roof! At the same time some of these scenes were just so "corrupt" that I wanted to turn away and fling the book across the room. I just didn't really like Rika's choices or many of the characters. Grr...I don't know. I don't want to spoil the book for those who love really dark romances.

I also wanted to talk about Michael and Rika's relationship. It was one of the most twisted relationships I've EVER read. I've read dark books before, but this one definitely is at the top. *sigh* now I feel like a wimp because I'm pretty sure I am the only one who feels this way :( but I won't lie it was exactly my feels the ENTIRE time.

Don't even get me started on Rika's poor decision making skills. I get that she loves Michael, but he's violent with her get's a trip off of her being scared of him and she sees nothing wrong with that. He's constantly making fun of how weak she is because she's an actual human being and has "feelings", actual emotions. He yells at her, pushes her, and scares her continuously. She on the other hand follows him around like a puppy continuously (even after how Michael treats her), ignores his violent fallacies and has no issues that their relationship might be an unhealthy one...in my opinion.

So Basically. I didn't like it. NOT because it wasn't a good book. It was a great book (based on writing alone). The content was good too I guess, just not something that I really enjoyed. That is SOLEY BASED ON MY OWN PREFERENCES. I capitalize this because I don't want someone to not read it just cuz I didn't love it. It was just not my kind of book. I actually sort of enjoyed it (when it wasn't twisted) but it wasn't very high on the book rector scale. I will also admit when I read the excerpts I wanted to read it so badly. So I did. But it wasn't what I expected. It blew me away so to speak.
I dare you to read it. It's definitely a little monster ;)

Every Last Breath...+PIE?

   Hey Sweeties,

Every Last Breath (The Dark Elements, #3)I was so Fan-gurling when I finished this book!! I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to squeal or re read the last scene. Sooo....I decided to do both! ^ _ ^

First DO NOT ask me what was my favorite part! I will not be able to answer this question. Why you ask? BECAUSE IT WAS ALL EFFING BEAUTIFUL!! Every damn part had me bursting with every emotion I could muster. Every part was delicious and gorgeous and I love ROTH SOO freaking MUCH! *sigh* yes I know I am using waayyy too many exclamation points and capitalizations, but it's necessary.

So let's see here...What made me love it so much? I guess just the ending of everything was so well put together and it didn't leave me wondering about anything. I was just sitting there in awe about everything that just happened before me. It was like seeing the perfect pie and getting to eat it too.

I was sooo in love with Laylah's decisions in this book, especially since I am not a big fan of hers to begin with. I liked that she picked...ehem blah blah blah... yeah I'm not going to actually say - er write the name because that would spill the beans. Yup and I love beans so no.

This book also KILLED me! I was wrecked. I couldn't believe that some of that sh** went down. I was amazed and pissed at the same time (which is not as easy as I made it seem *sniff* lol)

Now let's get to Roth because he is literally my FAVORITE character in the entire demon-warden world! He made every part of this book worth reading!! I am not kidding, I was a very happy girl BECAUSE of him. The way he handled all the situations and took care of Laylah. It was the apple to my pie! Gah! I am using so many pie references. I must be craving pie.*sigh x2*

Well I am going to keep my review at that. One, because I believe I have killed this review enough. It's dead, no point in killing it some more ;) And two because if I keep writing then I am sure that I am going to spill something BIG. So enough writing for moi! Read it though...I dare you!

Lev and Lemon Shortcakes!

Lev (Shot Callers, #1)OH. My. GER! I freaking LOVE Lev so much! I really enjoyed this book, it was a little awkward at times, but that was the best part! If I were to choose between chocolate and this book? I would totally choose chocolate. It's inevitable. But Lev would definitely come into a close second. *Taps finger against lips* I guess the best thing about this book was that it was unpredictable - a lot of books cannot grasp this concept. I couldn't really guess what was going to happen (a very common ingredient within Belle Aurora books).

Everything between Lev and Mina was different than anything I've ever read before. Which of course, was WONDERFUL because so many books are very similar in many ways. I mean this wasn't the first Belle Aurora book I've ever read, nor was it the first romance book. So it could've been girl falls in love blah blah blah. The thing is, it held the element of surprise. Some of these scenes were so Uber stressful, because I had no idea if they were going to be together or if she was just going to end up out on the streets again. I think part of the reason it was so surprising is because the characters were different. Lev took broody to another level. He was VERY different from any character I've read about. I can't really describe it (it's one of those you need to read it to see it moments) but he was different, in my opinion.

Lev was different I think because Belle wrote him in a way where because he was so socially awkward it made his character a little sweeter! I loved the awkwardness of his emotions with Mina. It was like watching a little baby deer walking for the first time. It was so cute!

Mina was also a surprise. I always thought that the best part of Belle Aurora's books is that she always adds that sugar with that spice. None of the characters are the same and the girls especially all have that spunk with that spoonful of sugar mixed in. To me, I love characters like that. In other words, she brings out the best in her characters and doesn't muddle their personality because of the problems they face.

All of her side characters were also such a plus! I loved Sasha the most oooh and I can't forget Mina's brother! He was sooo adorbs even though he was such a butt at first! They gave this book that extra oomph that it needed and I LOVED IT!!! Like seriously! I AM IN LOVE!

I cannot wait until Aurora comes out with another book! Read it! I dare you to.

Tootsie Rolls and...Tanks

Hola Sweeties,

Image result for tank blue collar billionairesI literally finished this book a little over 10 hours ago. I won't say I didn't like it because I did, it wasn't 'OH MY FREAKING GOSH I NEED TO READ IT AGAIN' good, though. It was more like 'WELL I FINISHED IT AND I DIDN'T TOSS IT ACROSS THE ROOM' good.

The book was like cheerios without the honey nut part. I felt like it needed something to spruce it up. There were just some parts where I started to feel great and then it was like jumping off a cliff after only falling halfway. A lot of the scenes just felt empty. Then again, there was just so much to actually like about the book too.

The name was very creative! I loved the title and the name - TANK - it's so catchy. Plus, it fit the character so well. Tank was in so many words, interesting. I wish that the author would have stopped explaining everything (in a way) and just "showed" it. Tank's character felt washed down. He was sweet and a teeny bit funny, but he was lacking that reality factor. The GIANT oomph. When a book is great you can practically SEE the character. In this one, I connected a little bit. Just a little.

Now as for the girl MC - Emma Shaw - she annoyed me. I feel like her character was also very watered down, but to say the least, she was annoying. Everything she did was pretty unrealistic, okay ALMOST, unrealistic. Plus she supposedly had anxiety attacks, but they barely came up. The author didn't really expand on any of the important parts that made the character either. So bummer there *Huffs*

Basically, it moved too fast. It was unrealistic. And I liked it to a certain extent. I would write more on it, but I feel like it would ruin the already ruined effect. So read it if you dare....

~ P

P.S. This series was called blue collared workers and I feel like the author should have seriously expanded on that, but all she pretty much expanded on was the relationship between Tank and Emma. Le sigh.

Sugar Cookies and Holly! Another update!

YUP. I am definitely an awful person. I haven't been great about updating, but you can bet your candy canes it's because of FINALS and the HOLIDAYS! Two very stressful events going on at the same time. I swear, I barely finished my assignments on time last week all thanks to ironically THANKSGIVING! *Deep breaths* I guess it's not really that bad if I think about it. I mean I did finish all the assignments on time...

Plus! I have some excellent news! I know I'm a little late with the announcement since it was announced a week ago, but I will now be posting it. Drumroll please! THE LAST BOOK INIQUTY IS BEING RELEASED!!! That's right ladies and gents. The last book in The Premonition Series by Amy A. Bartol. She's one of my favorite authors and I LOVED the series. I haven't read the series in a really long time because this last book took FOREVER to actually be published.

What does this mean?

Well, I will be reading that WHOLE series over again. Yes. I know. There are like five books in total so that will be taking up  a lot of my reading schedule. So here is what my reading schedule actually looks like right now...

1. White Hot Kiss Series.

So this series is being read over again...kind of. I technically read the series already, but mostly the first book. The second book got me upset the first time I read it because she was giving 'I love you' eyes tooooo the wrong person in my opinion. Now that I'm reading it over, I feel so much different about her decision...sort of. I still don't LOVE it, but it's not the hate that I had when I first read it. In fact, I'm not skimming this book this time and I'm actually enjoying it!

2. Corrupt

This one is a standalone (that I am aware of). It's written by Penelope Douglas and the cover is GORGEOUS! <3 I've read two...three....wait...no I'm pretty sure it was two excerpts of this book and I've fallen in love. It just came out and is currently sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I unfortunately cannot start it until I am done with Every Last Breath (last book in White Hot Kiss series). You can read the summary of Corrupt Here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21981841-corrupt?from_search=true&search_version=service

3. The Premonition Series (All over again...sigh)

I am both excited and a little unenthusiastic to reread this series. I really am excited because I remember loving this series (as I've said multiple times already), but there's that spot of hesitation. I'm a little afraid that I won't like the ending or even the series now that I'm a little older since I've read the series last. *Rolls eyes* I'm being silly. meh.

That's really all I have planned so far. Just three books/series.

*Rubs hands* Alright last but not least I want to add the Goodreads Choice Awards to this blog post. I was amazed and saddened that none of my favorites won this year. Still, all of the books that did win...well I knew only one. Whoopee! Yep I only knew about Colleen Hoover's book Confess. :( So a BIG congrats to her! She is also one of my FAVE authors.

I also wanna say that as this year is coming to a close I want to say that I am trying to finish my Goodreads reading challenge goal. I set it to 123 books but I think I'm going to have to change that. There's just not enough time in the day! What was your goal? Have you read all the books that you set to read? What were some of your faves this year?

Love, P

Nutty-Nutella-November Update!

Hey Sweeties!

So lately, things have been pretty hectic! I've been working my A double S off in school so it's been pretty difficult to write reviews. I do promise though that once things start to die down I will be writing more and more.

I have written one new review which you can find right below this lovely post! Other than that it's the only one I've written in a while. Another reason for that is because it's a book I randomly picked off my "read" shelf that I wanted to write a review on. I could've done a new book, but I've been mostly re-reading these past few weeks. Not cool, I know.

No Worries! I do have a plan though. So here are some of the books I'm planning to read next in this order....maybe.

- Until Jax by
- Tank by

In too Deep...Half-Suckerz

Hey Sweeties!

So I have finally decided that, yes, I am going to review this book after all. I guess I'll start out with the obvious question. Did I like it or not? Yes and no. It wasn't a bad book nor did I dislike it, but it wasn't great either.

Honestly, at that time I had just finished rereading one of my favorite series who happened to have a book in the series about a hacker. I'll admit it. I like books with hackers. Sometimes. I had also been watching waaayy too much 'Arrow' so yes I blame that too.

The Cover is what REALLY stood out to me at first, though. It's a really nice cover. I don't know what exactly I love about it, but I do. Then the synopsis lead me further into the rabbit hole until I ended up in Wonderland.

I'd like to say that...it was pretty much everything I predicted. MC goes to an academy and finds Colt and solves a predictable mystery, the end. It was like a hacker version of 'Mean Girls'. Sorry for all the references, but it's the truth. It was also not as funny as 'Mean Girls'.

I also thought that the main character was a bit annoying. She was pretty nosy and didn't get boundaries. Or at least that's what I remember. I felt like she wanted Colt, but was trying to pretend to be those girls that push people away.

Now, don't get me wrong! I did like some of the book. I liked Colt, who was very hot. And the book was a little bit funny, a chuckle here and there kind. It just wasn't something I would read over and over again.

Which is why it received a couple of nice four stars. You should read it, I dare you...

With all the sweets in the world,

Until 'Sweet' Friday Nights

 Hey Sweeties!

Image result for until friday night abbi glinesOh. M. GEEEEEE! I cannot believe I just read something so FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!! I am seriously...there are like no words because I just have so many feels right now it's not even funny! This book has knocked me on my ass since I finished it last night and it seems I still haven't gotten up yet.

*Puts hands against lips* I guess what was so great about Until Friday Night, was how cool everyone was. Yeah, I know I explained so much right?

Well, really, I guess what got me I that I loved the MC. She was really sweet and despite all of crud that was handed to her, she wasn't a "complainer" about it. Sure she had her problems no thanks to her father, but she accepted what happened to her with grace and a sense of maturity. She was just...awesome. Maggie didn't hate the world even though she had witnessed something horrible and she didn't take her hurt out on anyone. She found other ways to deal with her pain and it made me like her character so much!

I had recently read another book - coincidentally it was also about a mute - recently. I wont say the name of the book because I didn't hate it and just for the sake of ambiguity. Now, the book that I recently read wasn't my favorite. I liked it but it didn't hold the love factor that this book gave me. I loved this one because I loved Maggie's type of muteness. She chose being mute because it was her defense and it made her stronger in a way. She didn't back down or feel super sorry about herself. In the other book, it was different. She didn't know why she was mute but I felt like she used it and felt sorry for herself in a way.

I don't know... it was just different. Plus, this one just felt more realistic. I liked that.

West was another beauty to the story. He was just so broody at first and I loved his connection to Maggie. How he accepted her help and how they met and how he acted differently toward her.

Basically. I loved ALL the characters. The MCs though were the real enjoyable parts of the book. They always are...sometimes. Anyways. I suggest you go out there to the nearest book store, kindle shop, whatever. And buy it. I dare you to....

DARK, SWEET, and LONELY!

 Hello Sweeties

Boy, do I have a review for you guys! *Rubs hands together*   R.L. Mathewson has got to be one of my favorite authors EVER!! She has definitely stolen my heart with her books. I haven't read anything but the Neighbor From Hell series and the Pyte series, but I assure you that I'm in LOVE with her books!

All of her books are just so damn interesting and well thought out. They hold an element of surprise and so much originality. I am always excited to get my hands on the next book and I'm always eager to open whatever book of hers I have. I've read the first Pyte book (this book) about three times and each time, I have laughed my ass off. I haven't gotten bored yet and I think I can read it twenty more times and still never get bored! :)

I guess what I loved the most is the characters (one of the most important aspects of books). If you don't have great enticing characters, you can lose lots of interests. Luckily, EVERY character enticed me.

Well...okay maybe not so much Candy, only because she was a MAJOR douche canoe. Still, even with her douchy-ness I loved her character because if it weren't for her, the story wouldn't have turned out the way it did.

I especially loved grandma! She had such a big heart and at first I thought she'll be super strict and mean. Not at all! In fact I loved when she called her grandkids, her grandbabies!! Soo cute!!!

Of course, an extra thumbs up for SUPER hot Ephraim!!! He created the word 'sexy' pretty much. And I loved his relationship with Joshua from the beginning. How he just adhered to his "family" so quickly. Actually, I loved his character period (especially because Ephraim wanted a baby sooo badly—it was endearing).

I didn't really "love" Madison's character, but I didn't hate it. Not at all. I felt like at times she could be really annoying. I just hated that she wanted to fight about some of the silliest things. Okay, so maybe it's silly to me, but its all the same. I did love everything else about her! and really her annoying traits were VERY far and few.

And don't even get  me started on Chris! He made this book so amusing. There was so much that I loved about him. He was sweet and HILARIOUS!  I loved that even though he was dealt with a pretty shitty hand, he still was able to come out on top. He was so protective of women that it made the love factor just hit the roof!

Overall, what I have to say is READ IT! So there you are! A wonderful review to go with a extremely wonderful story! ;) why I put it off so long...I will never know ;)

A Deal for my SWEETHEARTS!

Soooo...Here's "The Deal"! Even though, I've said this a billion times before, I must say this again. I LOVED this book! I know I know, not that impressive. Seriously, though, I loved it! I mean look at that cover. That ALONE should bring on the love factor. (SQUEE!) It's incredibly hot and should turn any woman on, especially my lil' ol' nineteen year old self. *sniff*

The book itself was no downer either. In fact, it associated with the cover so nicely. It was like "HELLO, cover I'm beautiful story". Something that doesn't happen on just any occasion.

Oooo this book was just so good! I think that Hannah and Garrett were just so adorable together. They were a couple that weren't supposed to be together. It was fate, though. And everything about them were just thrilling and amazeballs. *squeals*

Something that was also great about this read, was that the characters had problems. They weren't perfect and some of the things they lived through were pretty rough. The thing is, they didn't let it bother them. They just lived and found their hearts together.

Another thing that I truly LOVED, is that you literally fall in love with the characters. They mean something. They're not just there to look nice (or just sit there boringly). They are in yo face and making you interact with them! They are lovable and make you care about what happens.

This book also had TONS of humor! It was funny and lighthearted with loads of angst and drama. The key ingredient to a great story, in my mind. I hope in other minds too, so I won't be the lonely one in that group. ;)

2015 has been a good year with a load of great books in it and this one is definitely up there! I say it's even got a couple others I've read this year beat. So if you haven't read it yet. I suggest you do. I dare you to...

Hey NERDS! New BOOKS!!

Hey NERDS! Okay, know that I only say that in the kindest way possible! lol Well, I haven't really posted in a while due to college and other things that we book lovers do in a day. Since I am both a girl who adores to read and hopefully have some sort of followers that like to do the same, I've decided to put up a reading list! Well, basically it's just a list of books that you can either read along with me or just look at to see what I'll be reviewing next! :) Either way, this WILL HAPPEN!

Even though I don't have very many followers  and most of the time I feel like I'm typing to myself, I think it's important for me to keep blogging. Hopefully, someone will see my blog and start to pass the word around, or the unthinkable...I actually get a follower! *GASP*

I'm just messing with you guys XD But with all seriousness, here's what I'm thinking...

Right now I'm reading:

- My sweetest escape (and rereading the first book which I will post a review about) by Chelsea M.
- I also just finished reading the Forbbiden Men series (Which I will also post soon!) by Linda Kage

What I should be getting to in the near future:

-EEEPP The NFH (Neighbors from Hell series by R.L. ) the new book just came out so I may or may not reread the entire series all over again. And if I do I will post a review for each and every one because I haven't yet! This is my absolute favorite series so bear with me!

-NEVER NEVER part 2 by Colleen Hoover should be next because I believe by the time I'm finished rereading everything I'm putting on this list, it should be out! I know...excited!!

I would put more on my list but with all the books I'll be re-reading this is going to have be a very short list. Well, technically it's long because they're all a part of a series making it way longer, right? If you'd like to read along then pick one and wait for the review to show up :) Thanks for the support dudes and dudettes and have a wonderful Saturday!

Sweet Never Never!

24378015 To think I didn't really want to read this book! Now, I can't wait to part 2 to come out! I am terribly upset that part 2 won't be out for another 3 months!! That is WAY too long! *sigh* At least it's better than a year.

Clearly this book was AMAZING! Seriously it was great! I have to admit that the beginning was a little confusing and I kind of wanted to stop reading (that descision lasted for about a second). The authors, Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher, also didn't make it easy on you by giving you clues in the synopsis. It was great though because you had to live with the confusion the characters were dealing with! To me that's awesome because I was put in the characters shoes. Most books you see through the eyes of the characters, the POV, but this book made you FEEL what the character was feeling. Which goes beyond just any plain ol' point of view story.

Both characters were pretty cool. They weren't perfect nor were they near perfect and their relationship was pretty messed up, if you ask me. Still, somehow I grew to love the characters. They had problems and flaws, but it was real.

I am so glad I tried this book and I'm sad that I didn't start it sooner! Now I'm to sit in my room next to my bookshelf and wait patiently (as patiently as I can) for book 2. *cries silently* I am truly anxious for the sequel thanks to that lovely ending/cliffhanger and hopefully I won't die waiting ever so impatiently! lol Read it...I double dog dare you!
