Candy Crystals and a 'Throne of Glass'

 Hey sweeties,

Can I just say that I think I have followed a hype. Hype = Throne of Glass. Trend follower = me ;)

Wow! I was so surprised by this book! I never meant to read this book and I wouldn't have if it didn't stop showing up on my Instagram feed. So I finally said, "You know what, maybe I'll just take a little sneak peek". Let's just say, it was the start of a very beautiful friendship.

I'll admit it, only because I try to make my reviews as honest as possible, that I didn't love the beginning of the book. I think it was hard for me to start this book because I had so much going on, school-wise and mind-wise lol. It took be a good three days to actually "start" this baby. In fact, I think at one point I was just going to close it and stick it in my maybe read pile. I am sooo sooo happy that I didn't do that! I finally found some time to really sit down and read so I stuck to it like glue and the further that I got, the harder it was to pull away.

Now, I am addicted! Even when I'm not reading, I feel like I'm still "in the story". It's a great feeling and one that I really haven't felt in a while. It's actually a feeling that I especially get when reading paranormal romances. It makes me excited to read books like this one because even when I'm away from the book I'm curious to know what happens next. What they're going to do, how they're going to solve the problem? Will they use magic or will they die? There's just more unpredictable events that go on in paranormal romances than the events in Contemporary Romances or even New adult. A genre, I've been into for a while. Although they have their little enticing hooks too. Of course, it definitely takes a good paranormal romance to ignite this kind of passion. This is for sure, one of those "PNRS"

What I loved so much about it is the fact that everything was a surprise. There was character in this storyline and I'll admit I found my self opening up to the main character, Calaena, just as much as the actual characters were. I had judged her wrongly just as the Chaol and Dorian and all of the other characters had. And I felt like I was truly in the book because with the characters I too found myself slowly "liking" her character. The book was like a lotus opening up and blooming for the first time.

This I have to say was a work of art. A piece that I probably will go back to again and again. I loved the way the setting was set up and how realistic it was. I love the time period and how realistic the author made that as well. I LOVED all of the twists and turns and surprises. The characters were enchanting and I felt myself being dragged into all of their POV's as well.

Hopefully, this didn't spoil too much and i'm sure that when I talk about the other books in the series, more will come out. For now, This is EXACTLY my feels and I couldn't wish for a better book! I'm really excited now to read the next book and I'm on the edge of my seat to find out what happens next!

Read it I seriously dare you to!
