Another Sucker...

Nero (Made Men, #1)This was a DNF for me. I'm sorry but I tried. I just couldn't get into it. And trust me I really worked to at least get to the second chapter.

To be honest, I really did think that this was going to be a good book. The blurb reeled me in and it didn't start off awkwardly. Or I guess I should say TOO awkwardly. Plus it came with such great reviews that I was like 'whoa baby!'. Then I started to read...

I hated how the author wrote Elle and Chloe's character. I hate to judge, but I thought they were way too weak for my taste. Sure it's okay too be afraid to be bullied again or whatever, but they took it overboard. she mad them look weak AND stupid. And trust me, I should know. I was bullied.

I didn't finish it and I'm sure those "popular" girls could have been meaner, but I seriously don't know what Elle and Chloe had to be afraid about. Elle gets squirted with paint and Chloe gets almost dumped with food. I get it, scary. But I mean I felt like those rich girls were just as weak and no stupid as them. they weren't mean or scary. Trust me, I've seen scarier and meaner. It was just how you perceive it. I just couldn't see Elle as this innocent sweet girl that I think the author wanted us to see.

I probably sound insensitive, but I can't help it. I just didn't like how super weak they sounded. and I've read bully stories before, this one just didn't cut it.

so read it, I dare you.

Sweet Candy Kisses...

Friend-Zoned (Friend-Zoned, #1)Wow! This book was such a refresher for me. I thought I was starting to lose my love for reading...then I read Friend-Zoned. It was like breathing fresh oxygen in a polluted city. Now I know, it's just the books I've been reading that weren't that great.

I honestly can't find anything to say that was bad about this book. Everything was AMAZING! Each character had meaning and compassion. Their emotions and personalities were all so different yet, they worked so well when put together. And a lot of the times when an author puts so many characters into the story, they tend to forget a few characters or just mess it up. Belle Aurora didn't do either of these things. Instead, she put meaning and love to each and every character. I actually fell in love with every character.

Another thing that I loved was the main character. Tina was just different from a lot of book characters I've read. Despite what life handed to her. Tina overcame it. She put on her happy goggles and waded through the bad, meanwhile shedding light to everything she touched or came in contact with.

To be honest, I think that she even influenced me too. I thought - as she would put it - she was THE BOMB! And I couldn't help but cry whenever she did. Usually I would be annoyed when the main character cried too much. When Tina did it, I felt it to my soul. ALL the emotions in this book I felt deep inside of myself. It was electrifying.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a little humor. I like books where they have hardships and stuff, but when it's just problem after problem, but no humor. That's when I tend to lose interest. I like to laugh a little...okay a lot. And when a book is too serious or complicated then that's when I want to stop reading it. Friend-Zoned was the kind that kept me interested the entire way through. And I would read it again! Over and over! So read it...I dare you!

Marshmellow Peeps!

Fighting for Flight (Fighting, #1)GOLLY MS. MOLLY, this was good! I can't say it wasn't because I'd be lying if I did. this book was freaking amazeballs!! there were a few things that bothered me and I was willing to overlook them because they were small. I still want to address them, though. :)

One, Jonah. He was a great character and everything, but so dang possessive! Alright, so maybe that was sort of hot. The thing that bothered me about him was the fact that he was super controlling at times. Like when he told Raven she couldn't certain places when she wanted to and even called her a b***ch once when she didn't oblige. He did apologize and it was for her own good, but it was still pretty douchey. Although, still sort of hot when he did that!

I felt like the characters were well established, but some of the characters felt a little bland than others. For example, Blake was a great character. he was really established into this story and we'll used. Plus his personality was the bomb! Same thing goes for Raven, Guy, and some of the other characters. Eve though was a little put out. I feel like she was an outside character like she was there, but wasn't.

The last bone to pick, was the ending. Or towards the end I should say! I'm pretty sure that Raven was choked. when you're choked for any amount of time, your esophagus can be crushed, same with the larynx and vocal chords. Raven didn't have any of those symptoms after being choked. Not even the scratchy voice. Again, small thing, but I felt I should mention.

Other than that I thought this book was spectacular! so read it I dare you!

SUPER Twizzler Twisters!

Being Jamie Baker (Jamie Baker, #1)When I finished Being Jamie Baker, I couldn't put it down. I blew off homework for this AMAZING read! I definitely wasn't disappointed. The characters were just so lively and never annoyed me.

Everything about this book was AWESOME. I have to say Jamie was a great character. She was this strong...yet somewhat relatable person. I liked how she reacted with Ryan. I loved their chemistry, their relationship, and how they came together. I liked that she wasn't like most girls. She liked Ryan, but wasn't overly eager to have him.

Ryan was a pretty wicked too *giggles*. I LOVED how he never gave up on Jamie, even when she pushed him away as hard as she could! He wasn't and a** and he was just Amazeballz! ^^

Reading this book just gave me so much to love about it (as you can tell). I must read book 2!!!!

Read it...I dare you.

Suckerz...

Fierce (Fierce, #1) I'm going to have to say that this book was a DNF for me. I didn't like it. *sigh* I was actually kind of excited to read this book! It was just like goat milk, sour and hard to swallow. I liked the beginning, sort of. It was a good start, it just kind of sucked towards the end of the first chapter. Either way, I tried to move on from it, but I still felt like I wasn't even close to being satisfied. I've got to be honest the MCs needed a lot of work. And I couldn't understand if Evie (who I didn't really like) was a lesbian or not. I also thought that the MC over exaggerated a lot. She could "see" that Brody (her best friend since kindergarten) was changing "more and more", yet she had only seen the guy three times since she's arrived. And I also thought she was unrealistic, annoying, whiney, and kind of stupid. I think that in the background she had a lot of potential of being a great character, I mean who doesn't love a nerd + bad boy love story. I think that Hunter was, a good character, if written in a different manner could've been great. So, basically the characters needed a whole lotta work. Actually, the book needed a lot of work. One thing that really caught my eye was that, the professor reacted to them talking, but didn't react to hunter slamming his hand on the desk??? Also I felt like the college setting was more of a high school setting. I'm in college and some of the scenes felt like stereotype HS not college. I also have to say that I hated the pet name. Leafy? That's not sexy, hot, or cute! One last thing...So I think that the author made me feel like I'm stupid sometimes. I think it was the way that she phrased her sentences. I can't remember the exact sentence, but it pretty much was the last straw. Oh! and don't even get me started on the...Brown nipple, through his shirt thing! I think the only thing I truly loved was the cover. Sorry... :(

But read it...I dare you...sort of.

Chocalatey delights!

Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love) Bravo! Bravo!! I absolutely LOVED this book! It was amazing, mostly because of all those amazeball characters! The best? Archer and Bree of course! And then that ending! I think my heart stopped for a good minute and the water works were about to start. Luckily my make up was saved thanks to my need to continue reading! I had come across this book more than once, the blurb didn't really spark my interest and sadly I hadn't even added this book to my shelves the first time it crossed my path. Then I kept seeing all of these great ratings and it was EVERYWHERE! So I go, "what the hay". Next thing I know, I'm reading one of the best books I've read this year! My emotions we're going from happy to what the heck just happened?! And that my friends, is one of the best feelings in the world, when you're a bookworm. The romance wasn't overwhelming, which is something that really entices me! I hate romances that put way to much emphasis on the "benefits" of the relationship rather than the story. It's just not my cup of tea. But this book kept the lovely stuff (that start with an s) to a point where it didn't over do it. The other characters were also superb! Except for the bad guys cuz they obviously had issues, but they were well established. The writing, the scenery, the romantic gestures all of it was well thought out and put in the book perfectly!! It was funny and silly and great! I give this book an encore and more! Read it...forget daring you! You NEED TO READ THIS!!!

Suckerz...

15851037WARNING: Slight spoiler! Not a big one, but slightly revealing.

The thing that I liked the most about this book is the cover. It's pretty. What I didn't like was everything else. At first, I was actually really liking the book. The characters were interesting and the plot intrigued me. I wanted to know what would happen next. Then every went downhill from there.

Willow wanted to be a cheerleader and therefore kicked Carlie out of the popular group (without trying). Yeah I know Willow didn't kick her out, but she wasn't upset about it either. In fact she was happy because she had "girl friends". That totally gave her negative points right there. Another thing that turned me off was the fact that she's now dating her "uncle". Sure he's not her real uncle, but from the description (because they don't give an age) he sound like he's old. And she tries to rectify it like two chapters later by saying he shaved and looked so much younger! Which he then counters with, he physically grows slow.

So basically that he won't look old until he's really old. And I get age difference, I mean twilight is one of my favorite books and Edward is freaking 200 years old. But the difference is when he became a vampire, he was 17. Putting him on the same level as Bella, sort of. Here they are nowhere near the same age!! So that bugged me to no end and to make matters worse, they made things kinda predictable.

I didn't finish the book, but I bet you Gage is Mikaul (I think that's how you spell it). And really I just didn't understand why Willow thought Mikaul would want to kill her. She explained it, but I thought her reason was kinda stupid. Basically, I thought she was whiny, unrealistic, and very annoying. I sound like a mean person, but I'm not going to lie about how I feel. This book just wasn't for me, but hopefully it can be for others. So read it...I dare you.

Oh. My. Butterscotch!

20945757So there was some good things and bad things about this book. Let's start with the good! I Want It That Way by Anne Aguirre, wasn't bad. It was in fact really good. I liked all of the characters and they were, for the most part, well developed. I liked how great they were together and liked how the main character cared for everyone. I also liked her relationship with Ty and Sam. Especially SAM! He was so cute and the dinosaur jokes were so adorible! I loved it!!

I also thought that this book was very original in it's own way. Sure it was like a lot of other romances. Girl falls in love with broken boy...but it had it's own spin. And didn't really repeat other situations.

Of course, like any book, it had faults. I felt like a lot of the book was really rushed. I didn't feel like it was well-paced. One minute she's doing something and the next she's doing something else. Most of the time I don't mind a fast paced story, but it got confusing after a while. Mostly because at some scenes, I didn't know what was going on.

Another thing is the fact that I didn't understand the dialogue. I don't know if it was just me, but I felt like I didn't know who was talking in some scenes of the book. Thank goodness, it wasn't in the entire book, but in a lot of it. And if it was just me...then I blame it on tiredness. lol

overall this was a pretty good read! And the characters were funny, refreshing, and light. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to read something awesome! So read it...I dare you.

Monday Mocha Madness!

This Monday I am going to review a book that made me have a mixture of emotions. It's called Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros.

19383432When I first saw this book, I contemplated very hard about actually reading it. It usually isn't my type. I don't really like anything with the army, mostly for the same reasons that Ember (the main character) hates it (only I've never actually lost a person to war). I guess I should really look up to our army more because of what they do for us, but their death is something that I hate. They die and even if I don't know them it still makes me sad. Of course, I have family -like my grandfather- who was enlisted as a luitenant. So I understand Ember's pov sorta. Everything about this book had me wrapped up with emotion like a wrapped up Christmas present. One moment I am grieving along with Ember and the next I'm laughing at something Josh said. This book made me feel (trust me I was crying like a baby during every chapter) unconditionally slap happy. And it's not an easy thing to do, making a reader feel exactly what the characters are feeling. Somehow this author literally has me wondering what happens next!! I skipped out on my homework just to finish! All of the characters were amazingly written and all had their own personalities. To be honest, it's a book like this (so emotional that you're bound to it) that proves that magic in this world exists...

So I dare you to read it! You won't regret it, hopefully.

Fudgy Friday's!

13372690It's another review today! Yes, I know that I do reviews everyday or try to, but today is especially Review day. Today I am doing a review of Slammed by Colleen Hoover!

Damn it! My whole pillow is freaking wet from my on and off hours of crying! Thanks for that Colleen. Heehee anyways...this wasn't my first time reading Slammed, but it is my second time. And boy do I STILL love it. And to be completely honest ('cuz you know me I'm an honest honey bee) I think I liked it better the second time around than the first! No wait...that's not right. I fudging LOVED IT the 2nd time around. Yeah my eyes are red and brimming with tears, but it's because Slammed has something that a lot of books don't have anymore. Slammed is real, it has heart, and most of all it has a soul. I can tell by reading this that Colleen put her heart, blood, and sweat into every word. And because of that, it's become one of my top favorites.... See totally wrote a review without giving anything away! (Needed to lighten the mood ;) yeah...nailed it! *fistpump*

There it is. And I hope you read it, because Slammed is one of the best books I've ever read. And you should also check out Mrs. Hoover's new book Ugly Love! It's amazing and maybe I'll review that one too, very soon!!

Chocolates and Apologies

Hey guys! I want to say to whoever reads my reviews that I'm really sorry that I haven't been on here since forever. One of the reasons is because my computer sucked. Note the past tense. Yes! I finally got a new computer!! So I will be writing a lot more reviews and trying to come up with something fun in the process. Another reason is school. Yep, college in high school was very busy stuff, but now I am a full time college student. Which means that I probably will still have no time to write or post. It sucks I know, but I started this blog and I am not giving up on it. Books are my life and if I can't review and gush about them then I'll just be a reader.

I am also going to try and update my blog. I want to make it more...I don't know. Bloggy? Anyways, if you happen to come upon this blog or this post then please subscribe and pass on the name to this blog! I will be putting up a review policy for authors and publishers and way more cool things. And hopefully I can also set up a few giveaways!

Thanks, whoever is reading this. And thanks to whoever follows me!

Pixie Stix!

4070493 I refuse to start this review off with a "need" pun!! I am not a pixie (king or nae king) therefore I have no NEED to do that. Hehehe see what I did there *wiggles eyebrows* Alright overused and probably not that cool punning aside... This wasn't the best book ever, I didn't end up with a hangover :( BUT! It was really cute! Yes cute. If your looking for hot then go read love an skate by Lila Felix. No this was cute. I do have to say that Nick is very sexy...ish, at times, so that made the story a whole lot better. Though please! They must stop they're...how do you call it???? Unsarcastical banter? These two characters are just not sarcastic as hard as they keep trying! What I did like was the new usage of pixies. They aren't like Fairies, of course not. They are Pixies. I also like the setting and plot of the story...kind of. And was I the only one connecting the real Betty White to the character, Betty White, in this book? They're both old, they're both witty, and they both have strong personalities. Ehem...well other than that it was pretty good and now it is on to the next book!! ;)
