Monday Mocha Madness!
This Monday I am going to review a book that made me have a mixture of emotions. It's called Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros.
When I first saw this book, I contemplated very hard about actually reading it. It usually isn't my type. I don't really like anything with the army, mostly for the same reasons that Ember (the main character) hates it (only I've never actually lost a person to war). I guess I should really look up to our army more because of what they do for us, but their death is something that I hate. They die and even if I don't know them it still makes me sad. Of course, I have family -like my grandfather- who was enlisted as a luitenant. So I understand Ember's pov sorta. Everything about this book had me wrapped up with emotion like a wrapped up Christmas present. One moment I am grieving along with Ember and the next I'm laughing at something Josh said. This book made me feel (trust me I was crying like a baby during every chapter) unconditionally slap happy. And it's not an easy thing to do, making a reader feel exactly what the characters are feeling. Somehow this author literally has me wondering what happens next!! I skipped out on my homework just to finish! All of the characters were amazingly written and all had their own personalities. To be honest, it's a book like this (so emotional that you're bound to it) that proves that magic in this world exists...
So I dare you to read it! You won't regret it, hopefully.
